The Matchmaking Area is a new interactive waiting zone that appears while your match is loading.

Instead of waiting on a static loading screen, players can now move around, show off their cosmetics, use emotes and abilities, and interact with other Stumblers before the match begins.

The goal is to make matchmaking feel faster, more social, and more fun!

After matchmaking begins, the game transitions into the loading flow before entering the Matchmaking Area. 

While the game searches for players, you’ll enter the Matchmaking Area. You can also leave matchmaking before the match starts.

Players can move around, use emotes, abilities, and showcase cosmetics while waiting for the match to begin.

What can I do in the Matchmaking Area?

While waiting for the match to start, you can:

• Move around freely
• Show your equipped skin and cosmetics
• Use emotes
• Test equipped abilities
• Interact with nearby players
• Preview footsteps and animations

Why was this feature added?

The Matchmaking Area helps transform loading time into a more active experience by:

• Making waiting more entertaining
• Allowing players to express themselves
• Improving the overall flow into matches
• Creating a more social pre-match experience

Does this affect matchmaking speed?

No.
The Matchmaking Area runs while matchmaking continues normally in the background.

Its purpose is to make the waiting experience feel smoother and more interactive.

Can I interact with other players?

Yes!

You’ll be able to:

• See other players moving around
• Watch their cosmetics and emotes
• Use your own emotes and abilities nearby

Which cosmetics are visible?

Your currently equipped:

• Skin
• Emotes
• Abilities
• Footsteps

may all appear in the Matchmaking Area.
